L’avvio delle operazioni di raddrizzamento (“parbuckling”, riassetto verticale) della Costa Concordia è previsto per la mattina di lunedì 16 settembre. La nave sarà raddrizzata grazie a una serie di cassoni, grandi parallelepipedi di metallo, che contengono acqua al loro interno: successivamente saranno progressivamente vuotati e faranno da galleggianti per evitare che la nave si inabissi dopo che sarà stata riportata in assetto verticale.

Intanto sull’isola del Giglio è tornata l’attenzione dei media di mezzo mondo, e nelle immagini diffuse ieri dalle agenzie fotografiche si vedono decine di giornalisti posizionati e accatastati, persone che guardano i preparativi, a un certo punto persino una tromba d’aria.
