Sarà la prima volta che Rowling espanderà la vicenda e le ambientazioni di Harry Potter in una forma “lunga” dopo la fine della saga. Rowling ha aggiunto che la storia non sarà un prequel e che la forma teatrale le è sembrata la più adatta per raccontare nuove vicende su Harry Potter.
