L’allenamento dei New Zealand Warriors

Ieri i giocatori della squadra di rugby neozelandese New Zealand Warriors hanno iniziato la preparazione atletica per la nuova stagione della National Rugby League, la lega professionistica più importante dell’Australia. La squadra dei New Zealand Warriors è infatti l’unica della Nuova Zelanda a parteciparvi, oltre a sedici squadre australiane. La squadra, allenata da Ruben Wiki, è tornata ad allenarsi sulla spiaggia di Bethells Beach di Auckland, dopo che nel 2009 un compagno di squadra, Sonny Fai, morì per annegamento. Cercò di aiutare il fratello e altri amici che stavano facendo surf di fronte alla spiaggia, ma annegò mentre nuotava verso di loro e il suo corpo non venne più ritrovato. Prima di iniziare l’allenamento sulle colline di sabbia, c’è stata una cerimonia commemorativa in onore di Fai.
