Domenica era diventato protagonista di fronte all’attenzione di mezzo mondo il quartiere londinese di Tottenham, sede degli scontri di sabato sera e famoso allora soprattutto per la squadra di calcio. Si era raccontata la storia di Mark Duggan, che ci abitava, e dalla cui uccisione erano nate le proteste, si era spiegato cos’è Tottenham. Ma quello che è successo nelle 48 ore successive ha messo in secondo piano le analisi storico-sociali su quel singolo quartiere: dopo le prime imitazioni di domenica, lunedì sera le notizie sono arrivate da decine di zone di Londra (e anche città fuori Londra: Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool) collocate un po’ ovunque nella sua conurbazione: Peckham, Hackney, Croydon, soprattutto, ma molte altre ancora. Le foto delle distruzioni dell’ultima notte arrivano da un sacco di posti.
