Tra le molte cose che ha innovato l’amministrazione Obama nel gestire il profilo e la presenza pubblica della presidenza degli Stati Uniti, una ha a che fare con le fotografie. Fin dall’insediamento, infatti, il fotografo ufficiale della Casa Bianca, Pete Souza, segue Barack Obama ovunque, al numero 1600 di Pennsylvania Avenue e nei suoi viaggi in giro per il mondo. Scatta ogni giorno diverse fotografie, pubblicandole poi su Flickr e rendendole quindi accessibili a tutti e non soltanto – come avveniva in precedenza – alle agenzie fotografiche. Sono foto molto belle e raccontano un pezzetto di quanto accade ogni giorno se si fa il presidente degli Stati Uniti d’America.
