Il Seehundstation Norddeich è una struttura che si trova sulla costa nord-ovest della Germania e che raccoglie giovani foche che, per qualche ragione, si sono separate dalle loro madri: spesso per via delle tempeste o di situazioni causate dall’intervento umano. I volontari che lavorano nella struttura, secondo le stime fatte dalla Seehundstation Norddeich, ritrovano circa 90 giovani foche abbandonate ogni anno: le portano nel centro e si prendono cura di loro finché non arrivano a pesare circa 25 chilogrammi, e poi le liberano.
