Il tennista svizzero Roger Federer ha battuto il serbo Novak Djokovic in semifinale a Wimbledon, il più importante torneo di tennis sull’erba. Federer ha vinto in quattro set, 6-3 3-6 6-4 6-4. Federer giocherà la finale contro lo scozzese Andy Murray, il vincitore della partita con il francese Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Se dovesse vincere il torneo tornerebbe numero uno al mondo della classifica ATP dei tennisti professionisti (posizione detenuta da tempo da Djokovic) e diventerebbe anche il giocatore più a lungo in testa alla classifica nella storia del tennis. Federer eguaglierebbe anche il record dello statunitense Pete Sampras, vincitore di Wimbledon per sette volte.
