Bono: «Non so se potrò suonare di nuovo la chitarra»

A causa di un brutto incidente avuto a novembre, mentre andava in bici a New York

Bono Vox degli U2 ha scritto sul sito del gruppo un lungo commento sul suo 2014 e, tra le altre cose, ha raccontato di un incidente avuto lo scorso novembre, mentre girava in bici a New York. Nell’incidente Bono si è rotto il braccio in sei punti, fratturato un’orbita oculare, una mano e una scapola: il recupero è ancora in corso e i medici non sanno se potrà riprendere a suonare la chitarra.

«Mi sono rotto la mano, la spalla, il polso e la faccia, ma quest’anno il vero infortunio è stato al mio orgoglio irlandese, dato che tutti hanno visto che sotto la tuta indossavo dei pantaloncini in lycra gialli e neri. Sì, di LYCRA. Non è molto rock ‘n’ roll.

Il recupero è stato più difficile di quanto pensassi. Mentre scrivo, non so se potrò suonare la chitarra di nuovo. Gli altri del gruppo mi hanno ricordato che né loro né la civiltà occidentale dipendono da questa cosa».
