Nella seconda partita del girone B dei Mondiali, il Cile ha battuto l’Australia 3-1. Hanno segnato nel primo tempo Sanchez e Valdivia per il Cile, Cahill per l’Australia; nel secondo tempo Beausejour per il Cile. L’altra partita del girone B era finita col sorprendente 5-1 dell’Olanda sulla Spagna.
