Sul Corriere della Sera di lunedì Sergio Rizzo ricostruisce la questione della scelta sul porto in cui dovrà essere portato il relitto della nave Costa Concordia – naufragata quasi due anni fa all’Isola del Giglio – per essere smantellato.

Il risultato della sfida sembra purtroppo già acquisito: fra Piombino e Civitavecchia vincerà Smirne. Da metafora della superficialità e della vigliaccheria quando si è piegata su un fianco davanti all’Isola del Giglio, a orgoglioso simbolo di riscatto quando è stata risollevata con uno sforza prodigioso, la Costa Concordia rischia di trasformarsi ora nell’emblema delle divisioni campaniliste e della inaffidabilità made in Italy.
Affondata nelle nostre acque, la grande nave da crociera sarà smantellata con ogni probabilità in Turchia, nel grande porto mediterraneo di Izmir. Fra dieci mesi verrà trasferita lì dalla Vanguard, colossale battello semisommergibile che il gruppo Carnival, proprietario della Costa, ha affittato per tre mesi, a partire dal prossimo agosto, per la modica cifra di 30 milioni di dollari.
