La torcia olimpica sta percorrendo gli ultimi chilometri a Londra: stasera arriverà allo stadio di Stratford, dove accenderà il braciere olimpico. La torcia è arrivata a Londra venerdì scorso: Martyn Williams della Royal Marine britannica si è calato da un elicottero, insieme alla fiamma contenuta in una lanterna, sulla Torre di Londra. Ad attenderla c’era il sindaco della città Boris Johnson. La fiamma ha trascorso la sua prima notte nella capitale britannica alla Jewel House, il museo dei gioielli della Corona. In questa ultima settimana è stata trasportata da 1.000 tedofori, percorrendo circa 200 chilometri intorno Londra. La torcia si può seguire in streaming video sul sito della BBC e su quello ufficiale delle Olimpiadi. Non si sa ancora chi sarà l’ultimo tedoforo.
