Ieri la Casa Bianca ha reso pubblico sul suo sito l’elenco degli stipendi ricevuti da ogni suo dipendente, dai consiglieri del presidente agli alti funzionari fino ad assistenti e segretari. Dal 1995 la Casa Bianca deve presentare un simile rapporto al Congresso e da quest’anno l’amministrazione Obama ha deciso di renderlo accessibile a tutti i cittadini.

Alla Casa Bianca lavorano 454 persone. Lo stipendio più alto è di 172.000 dollari all’anno, pari a 118.000 euro, ed è ricevuto da 21 persone: tra queste, il capo dello staff Bill Daley, il consigliere politico David Plouffe e il portavoce Jay Carney. Lo stipendio più basso ammonta a 41.000 dollari l’anno, poco più di 20.000 euro. Secondo il rapporto, tre impiegati non ricevono alcun compenso: sono Patricia McGinnis, Jessica Schumer e Shale Wong. Il presidente Obama non è incluso nell’elenco. Per la cronaca, il suo stipendio è di 400.000 dollari all’anno, circa 275.000 euro.
