Il giornalista del New York Times David Carr nel suo libro autobiografico The Night of the Gun (2008), in cui racconta il suo passato da tossicodipendente. Carr è morto a 58 anni dopo essersi sentito male in redazione, il 12 febbraio del 2015. Era molto stimato e apprezzato e si occupava soprattutto dei rapporti tra i media e Internet.
