Venerdì 2 agosto nella zona del safari di Ramat Gan, città israeliana alla periferia est di Tel Aviv, è nato un piccolo elefante – probabilmente una femmina, ha detto il portavoce del safari – che è stato fotografato da Ariel Sharif, fotografo di Associated Press che si occupa normalmente di Medio Oriente. Sharif ha fotografato l’elefante poche ore dopo la nascita,  mentre si trovava tra sua madre La Belle e sua nonna La Petite.
