Martedì 30 aprile, il Senato ha discusso e dato la fiducia al governo di Enrico Letta, come era avvenuto il giorno precedente alla Camera. Il governo ha ottenuto 233 voti a favore e 59 contrari; 18 senatori si sono astenuti (l’astensione al Senato vale voto contro). Partito Democratico, Popolo della Libertà e Scelta Civica hanno votato a favore; Sinistra Ecologia Libertà e Movimento 5 Stelle hanno votato contro, mentre la Lega Nord si è astenuta.
